AERC’ programs address both traditional and modern barriers to education. We realize our mission through our key signature programs: (1) Scholarships, (2) In-School Mentorship, and Raising Awareness.

We have built relationships directly with school teachers and principals who are our partners. AERC disburses scholarships directly to over 30 select schools around Kenya to enhance our recruitment and performance monitoring.

Scholarships

We provide full scholarships for girls in Kenyan high schools. Since 2003, Kenyan children now have access to “free” public  education. However, secondary education remains out of reach for many girls due to high fees and limited access to school supplies. AERC reaches out to help the exceptionally talented girls from resource-limited families. Our scholars once funded enjoy a full scholarship covering all official school fees, school uniforms, books, room and board (for boarding schools) and small stipend to cover transportation costs to and from school.

Mentorship

At AERC, we not only give scholarships, we inspire girls and women to succeed!  We are role models and mentors to our girls who need inspiration. We dare our girls to dream big! AERC mentors our scholars through in-school mentorship by visits during the school year to ensure that they stay in school.

Raise Awareness

We raise awareness about the positive change emerging from educating women and the issues affecting African girls. You may already be asking  Why should we educate girls?
